Company Driver Benefits

Pacific Shipping operates solo drivers on dedicated routes averaging 3,200 miles per week with at least one and a half days per week of home time. We do not keep our driver's out for two to three weeks at a time. By employing this operating philosophy we believe we have created a safer and more family friendly environment.

Driver Compensation

Start from $50,000.00 to $55,000.00 per year base
Earn up to $.42 per mile
1st pick up and 1st drop no additional pay

Additional pickups and drops 25.00 each plus mileage

Mileage pay based on PC Miler and PCS Software interface
Empty and loaded miles paid the same
Out of route miles paid with company approval

Driver Qualifications

2 years recent verifiable over the road, tractor-trailer experience
At least 25 years of age
Good MVR and driving history
Good work history
Outgoing personality
Ability to pass D.O.T. drug screen and physical
Ability to pass and receive a TWIC card. (Transportation Worker Identification Card)
Ability to operate PeopleNet electronic logs and dispatch system software
No DUI/DWI in last 5 years
No HAZMAT required

Equipment

Peterbilt 386's and International ProStar's none of which are over 48 months old
53' Refrigerated trailers and 40' overseas refrigerated containers

Multiple Stops or Pick Ups

1st Stop or Pick-up no additional pay
2nd Pickup or stop $25.00 each

Layover

$50.00 after first 24 hours if no load is available from dispatch, this does not include the Denver terminal or your domiciled location.

Detention Pay

A company driver will be compensated at $10.00 per hour after the first four hours "four hours free", up to a maximum of $90.00 per trip. The detention time is computed and started from the appointment time that is specific to the customer. To receive this pay you must notify dispatch of the delay no later than two hours after the appointment time and accurately fill out your trip envelope noting start and departure time.

Example: If a driver arrives before his appointment time the clock will not start until the assigned appointment time.
